My Everything

Happy Wednesday to you!
It's inspiration day over on the Heartfelt Creations Blog and I'm participating with a card made with the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony Collection, please come join us on the blog for more fun projects.

The background and sentiment were created with papers from the Sweet Peony Paper Collection and the top flourished piece was created with distress ink and Distress Grit Paste with a stencil.  The bottom of the stenciled piece was cut with the Fleur Border Basics and a lace piece added with the same die set.

The Eyelet Heart Die was used to create both layers of the heart, with paper from the same paper collection used for the center.

The large flowers were stamped with the Large Sweet Peony, sponged with Fern Green, Lilac Posies, and Plum and sculpted with the 3D Floral Shaping Mold and cut out with corresponding dies. For more tips on creating with the flower shaping molds, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/FSdPL7nXvQE.  Stamens were cut out with the Flowering Dogwood Die from pale green card stock.  The flowers were sponged with glue and covered in glitter.

The leaves were made with the Classic Rose Vines and the small flowers were made with the Backyard Blossoms Cling Stamp and die sets.

Foam Peonies

Howdy to all my crafty friends!

Before I show you some Wednesday inspiration, I have to show off my first grandson, James.  He arrived last week and I can't tell you  how much joy he's already brought to my world!

Now, on to some gorgeous inspiration.  If you get a chance, pop on over to the Heartfelt Creations Blog to find tons of beautiful new projects.

For my card today, I started with paper from the Heartfelt Creations Classic Petunia Paper Collection.  I used it for the background and the sweet framed rectangle piece, both are matted with black card stock.  The corner dies were created with the leftover piece from the Regal Border & Pockets Die that you can see on the right.

I love playing around with the new Art Foam Paper and created all of my flowers with the Large and Small Sweet Peony Cling Stamp and Die sets.  Several colors of Bead Stamens were added to the centers, as well as lots of glitter.

To see how to shape the peony, watch the video at https://youtu.be/L9_MLkvpGPQ.

Rino Birthday

Today I'm bringing you a card I made for the MFT Sketch 385.

For my card, I used the new MFT Safari Party and Aussie Animals sets.  The images were colored with copics on watercolor paper.  The background stamps and all dies are from MFT also.

Coneflower Frame

Greetings Friends!
It's that time of the week where we celebrate inspiration at the Heartfelt Creations blog, there are so many wonderful projects to inspire, don't forget to pop on over.

I'm bringing you a frame that shows off the pretty Backyard Blossoms Collection, when I saw the gorgeous corner coneflower stamp, I knew it would be perfect to decorate a mat and I decided to add an inspirational verse and surround it with these lovely wildflowers.  The background paper is a scene from the Backyard Blossoms Paper Collection.  All of the flowers were heat embossed in black and water colored with Zig markers and water pen.  The flowers are from the Garden's Edge Coneflower, Backyard Blossoms, and Blossoming Coneflower Cling Stamps sets with corresponding dies.  Crystal Clear Glitter was added to the large coneflowers and butterfly.

The verse and mats were cut out with the Eyelet Oval & Basics Large and Eyelet Oval & Basics Small Dies, the purple mat is also from the paper collection.

The butterfly is from the Butterfly Kisses Cling Stamp and Die sets and was heat embossed and water colored also.

Wonderful Birthday

Happy Wednesday!
It's New Release Day over at Heartfelt Creations and they've really got a treat for you this month!

For my card, I started with paper from the Backyard Blossoms Paper Collection and created a lace oval by cutting two of the circle doily in the Butterfly Kisses Die set in half and adding them around the border of my oval mats.  The ovals were cut with the Eyelet Oval & Basics Large and Small die sets, distressed and layered with foam tape in between. You can see the lace border peeking out on the sides, that's the Sweetheart Border Die.  For my coneflower, I stamped and cut out three flowers from the Blossoming Coneflower stamps and dies and sponged them with ink, cut the flowers off of two and layered them on the third with foam tape after adding a little sculpting to the backs.  The flowers were then sponged with glue and covered with Crystal Clear Glitter.

The sentiment also comes from the paper collection and was cut out and distressed.

The butterfly was stamped and cut out with the Butterfly Kisses stamps and dies, sponged with ink and covered with glitter.

Before I go, I'd like to warn you about a new danger to crafters everywhere, be prepared, the next picture you see is gruesome.

Yes, this is a brutally dismembered paper poinsettia.

And this is the culprit, looking like an innocent R00mba (automatic vacuum) charging.  Notice that her red light is on, a sign that she's probably full of other crafting supplies that she's eaten that I swear I left on top of my desk.  I'm also missing an Eyelet Oval die and I'm very suspicious that she may be involved.  Last week I found a mangled paper butterfly, it was too horrifying, I couldn't photograph it!

Mother's Day Calendar

Howdy Friends!
The SCS Ways to Use It Challenge this week is to use pattern paper.

For this fun and easy challenge, I used designer paper from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony Paper Collection, the background is a 6x6 panel and the sentiment is also from the same paper pad.  The peonies were created with the HFC Large and Small Sweet Peony Stamps and Dies.  Once stamped the flowers were sponged with Archival Ink - Leaf Green, MFT - Wild Cherry, and MFT Cranberry Cocktail.  To see how to shape the peony, watch the video at https://youtu.be/L9_MLkvpGPQ.  The leaves were made with the Classic Rose Vines stamps and dies and were stamped and sponged in Leaf Green.

For the easel, I used a tutorial at Splitcoastampers.

The flower stamens are from the Bright Bead Stamens - Medium stamen set.  To finish, sponge the flowers with glue and sprinkle with Crystal Clear glitter.

Blessings,
Darla

Sweet Peonies and Butterfly Dreams

I'm so excited to be part of the Heartfelt Creations Design team for the next year!  Many of you may already know that I'm a huge fan of Heartfelt and already use their beautiful stamps and dies in most of my cards, and love to use them when I play along with Splitcoaststampers challenges.
Be sure and head over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see lots of beautiful inspiration.

For my card today, I'm combining the beautiful Butterfly Dreams Collection with an all-time favorite of mine, the Sweet Peony stamps and dies.  The background was created with designer paper from the Blushing Bride Paper Collection (aqua) and the Classic Petunia Paper Collection (magenta paper), and two strips were cut out of the aqua piece with the Butterfly Dreams Border Die, then the corresponding stamps were sponged and added on top.  I trimmed it out with the lovely lacy Fleur Border Basics Die.

Just between you and me, I looked at the card when it was complete and realized that I'd put the butterfly background panel on upside down, the words on the aqua designer paper were upside down, so I created two new corners with the words right side up.  I apparently needed another double espresso!

My floral spray was created with the Large and Small Sweet Peony stamps and dies and pretty gold stamens from the Assorted Bead Stamens - Medium.  If you'd like details on sculpting peonies, you can find a video here.  The tiny yellow flowers were created with the smallest flower in the Classic Rose stamp and die sets and yellow stamens from the Pasted Bead Stamens - Medium were added.  Lots of Crystal Clear glitter was added to the flowers.

The string of butterflies from the Butterfly Dreams Border set was sponged, cut out, and the butterflies cut apart to place among the spray of flowers. Stickles glitter glue was added to the butterflies.

Other Supplies:
floam tape, Stickles glitter glue
